Win a cashmere hot water bottle cover kit

A white cable hot water bottle and three balls of yarn.Who are Gomitoli's? Gomitoli's are an Italian company who specialise in luxury fibres, and who spin yarns for some of the biggest designer names around. Now they're branching out into selling yarns to hand knitters, with the same high-quality fibres, including camel and angora. No luxury brand would be complete with a cashmere yarn, and Gomitoli's is truly lovely - just the thing you want to cuddle up to.

We've been given four hot water bottle kits to give away. Each contains three balls of yarn and the pattern for this super hot water bottle cover, all neatly packaged in an attractive box. You just need to supply your needles and a hot water bottle to go in it.

Enter a knitted tea cosy comp!

Tea cosy2We’re not sure what it is about tea cosies (perhaps the unspoken promise of tea and biscuits?), but there’s something truly irresistible about designing and knitting them. So we were arather delighted to discover that the residents of a town in Queensland, Australia, has declared it ‘tea cosy capital of the world.’

The town, named Miles (but previously named Dogwood – the new name is not due to it’s distance from Brisbane, or even the UK, but in honour of William Miles, a local member of parliament), is hosting an international tea cosy design competition to celebrate – what knitter could resist?

There are four categories to choose between: Knitted/Crocheted, Embroidery, Novelty and Colour-Themed (Pink for Breast Cancer or Red for Heart Foundation), so you’re sure to have an idea that’ll fit into one.

Win tickets to the Stitch & Creative Crafts Shows

Stitching & Creative Crafts showsWhat better place to find inspiration than at the Stitch & Creative Craft Shows? There will also be a huge range of activities to get involved in, from workshops to demonstrations to retailers with stalls groaning under the weight of irresistible things to buy. Other crafts catered to include crochet, cross stitch, papercraft, and painting.

We’ve got 10 pairs of tickets to the Manchester show (9-11 February 2012) and 10 to the Maldon show (16-18 February 2012) to be won.
