Knitting, drinking and charity!

TLKC Open DayKnit-ins and charity knits are among our favourite things, so we’re thrilled that The Little Knitting Company are combining the two yet again for their regular Summer Open Day.

In addition to giving you the perfect excuse to spend the day in friendly local pub The Horse and Jockey in Stanford in the Vale, Oxfordshire, you'll be able to pick up new knitting skills, while raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents) based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Plus you'll have the chance to enjoy the pub's menu of over 30 homemade ice cream flavours!

The Little Knitting Company have released a truly fabulous knitting kit of Juggling Santas – a trio of bean bag Santas made from red, white and black merino yarn and stuffed with rice or lentils. We can’t promise you the juggling skills, but with balls this full of personality, no one will care if you drop a few!

Knit one, sip two for Great Ormond Street Hospital

The Little Knitting Company's Knit InThe Little Knitting Company are hosting a special ‘Crafty Event’ day for lovers of knitting to get together, and at the same time, raise some money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity

From 11am – 4pm on Saturday 12 November, The Horse & Jockey in Stanford in the Vale (between Oxford and Swindon) will be taken over by knitters getting together to brush up on their skills and exchange expert tips and advice, within the warm and friendly atmosphere of this cosy pub.

“As well as an Aladdin’s cave full of beautifully textured wools and yarns, knitting kits and accessories, we will be holding a number of mini surgeries, offering problem solving advice through the day,” say Ruth Chester, who runs the Little Knitting Company. “And for those who like to try something new, there’s a chance to try spinning and weaving too.”

The event is free to attend, but Little Knitting Company is inviting everyone that comes along to make a small donation to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
