Visit Wool House - the world's largest showcase of wool, for free!

Indulge your love of wool in London next month. From the 13th to the 24th March, The Campaign for Wool is holding a 'World-wide-wool' event at Somerset House in London - and entrance is free. This will be the world’s largest exhibition of wool, showing its uses in fashion, interiors and craft, as a modern, versatile, fibre.

On the needles with Shaun the Sheep!

Shaun the Sheep has teamed up with the Campaign for Wool to create the world's largest handmade flock of pom-pom sheep! In an exclusive interview with Simply Knitting he shared his inner-most knitting secrets, translated via his favourite farmer; we didn't have room for all the interview in the magazine (issue 103, in the shops tomorrow) so you can read his full answers here:

Simply Knitting: What are your favourite items to knit?

Shaun the Sheep: Even though the flock have plenty of wool to provide natural warmth, Shaun loves to knit colourful hats and woolly scarves for the rest of the flock to wear.

Celebrate wool by joining a Baaa-my Army

Pom-pom flockEden Arts have launched a public art project that’s totally caught our imagination! The Cumbria-based organisation are inviting you to make pom-pom sheep to create a gigantic fuzzy flock – think Antony Gormley’s ‘Field for the British Isles’, only fluffier and more colourful!

The aim is to raise awareness of the wonder of sheep’s wool while encouraging collaborative creativity, so make sure you use sheep’s wool to make your pom-pom beasties, and invite as many people to join in as you can!
