On the needles with Sarah Hatton

In Simply Knitting Issue 107 we talked to designer Sarah Hatton. We couldn't fit all of the interview in the mag, so here are some extra bits and pieces!

Corrections in issue 107

We're sorry, we have a couple of corrections for the subscribers-only slippers pattern in issue 107:

They should be knitted with the yarn double, to achieve the correct tension. So follow the pattern as follows:

Cast on 29 sts using 5mm needles and the yarn doubled.

Row 1 Ktbl to end of row, to form a neat edge.

Row 2 (WS) (K1, P1), rep to last st, K1.

Row 3 (K1, P1), rep to last st, K1.

Row 4 P1, K9, P1, K7, P1, K9, P1.

Row 5 Knit.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 until work measures 10cm from the cast on row ending with RS facing for next row.

Mother's Day ideas for our overseas readers

As you probably know, in the UK we celebrate Mothering Sunday a couple of months earlier than our American friends, so we've already posted several great knitted project ideas to spoil your Mum with. But we know a lot of our readers are overseas, and in the USA, Canada, and Australia, Mother's Day is less than two weeks away, on Sunday 12th May.

We had six new quick and easy Mother's Day gift patterns by Kyoko Nakayoshi in issue 103, including this chunky cable bag, plus a corsage, mug hugs and more. You can download the whole set for just £2.99 here, or if you'd prefer to catch up on issue 103 you can buy a digital iPad edition here.
