If you haven't picked up your needles for our Comfort Blanket campaign in support of Refuge yet, the beautiful smile of this adorable little boy should be all the encouragement you need. (We have had permission to use the photo – no children have been put at risk.)
This is the first Comfort Blanket Refuge have received, and isn't it a beauty? A lot of thought and love has clearly gone into choosing the yarns and making sure they work well together, and the knitting looks very skillful. Chris, who sent it in plus a donation, didn't include an address or contact details, so if you're reading this, Chris, thank you very much from Refuge, from us, and from the blanket's recipient.
Of course we still need more blankets. The sad fact is that on any day, Refuge supports 1,600 women and children, and more women on top of that use the free 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (0808 2000 247), which helps women across the UK access domestic violence services in their area. Knit a comfort blanket, and gave someone in need a big woolly hug.
