One of our readers, Valerie Baudry, is organising a KIP (Knit In Public) event as part of World Wide Knit in Public day.

Taking place on Saturday 09 June at Caledonian Park, Market Road, London N7, Valerie invites you to "Join us as we knit with hundreds of other knitters around the world on the same day!”
The event will take place alongside the London Garden Squares Open Weekend in a North London historical park. Caledonian Park is easy to reach via Caledonian Tube Station, Caledonian Rd & Barnsbury Overground Station and Buses 17, 91, 259, 274, 390 and 393.
Starting at 11am and running until 5pm, Valerie and her fellow knitter will be meeting on the green in front of the clock tower. “Anyone’s welcome,” she says, “The more the better! Just bring a knitting project or, if you can’t yet knit, bring needles and yarn and we’ll teach you to knit!”
She also advises bringing water, soft drinks and snacks, but no alcohol or cooking food. A blanket or folding chair to sit on will help ensure your comfort as there are some benches around the park but not on the green itself. “Also bring sun cream or an umbrella...”
Valerie is also hoping to hold one or two competitions during the day, with prizes such as yarn, knitting accessories or vouchers for knitting shops.
