At Simply Knitting we do love a bit of hat knitting. If the end result keeps the head of a sexy man in uniform snug, so much the better. So the charity campaign being run by Loren Hope of Pins & Needles has us in knitting heaven!

Since opening wool and haberdashery store Pins & Needles in Barbourne, Worcester, Loren has been seeking knitters to knit hats for the soldiers in Afghanistan. “My aim is to have 500 hats and shoe boxes full of goodies to send over to the troops in time for Christmas,” she says.
Sirdar have kindly donated wool and patterns to help the project started, and Loren invites you to get in touch if you’re interested in receiving one of the patterns and a list of preferred goodies.
“Alternatively you can simply knit any Beanie hats and post them to the shop, ready to be sent to the soldiers overseas.”
The address to send your completed hats to is Pins & Needles
73 Barbourne Road
Barbourne
Worcester
Worcestershire WR1 1SB.
The deadline for getting them to Pins & Needles is 15 October 2012, so get knitting now!
