Knit and Natter with The Donkey Sanctuary

The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Devon, are inviting you to attend a Knit and Natter in aid of donkeys in need across the world.

Previously, the international animal welfare charity has asked knitters and crocheters to help them out by making cute knitted donkeys and donkey-themed crochet projects from key rings to mobile phone socks like the one shown below.

Now you can pick up some new skills by attending one or two of The Donkey Sanctuary's upcoming Knit and Natter sessions. The first one will be held on Wednesday 18 July 2012, but don't worry if you can't make it to that one - there will be a second session held on Wednesday 19 September.

Each session will take place from 1-2.30pm and will give you the opportunity to work alongside experienced knitters and crocheters, while learning all about The Donkey Sanctuary's work around the world.

Although the sessions are free to attend, we suggest making a donation to the charity to help them continue their work.

Any handcrafted donkey-themed masterpieces you donate will be sold via the charity's Visitors' Centre and online shop www.donkeyworld.org.uk, as well as at a variety of events throughout the year.

To book your place on one of the Knit and Natter sessions, please visit The Donkey Sanctuary website, phone Marian or Ruth on 01395 578222 or email Volunteer Fundraising on VFR@thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk.
