skm77.knitalong.jpgThe Knitter’s Juliet Bernard designed this sweet hat and mitten set especially for Simply Knitting, and we’ve made it the focus of the Stitch & Craft Show 2011 knitalong.

Stranded colourwork can seem a bit daunting at first glance, but Juliet Bernard, editor of The Knitter and designer of this set, has come up with a pattern that uses slip stitches to give the snazzy look of colourwork without the bother.

"My design uses slip stitches to create a horizontal and vertical maze and is an ideal way to try
colourwork on a small scale because you are really only knitting stripes," explains Juliet.
