Julie from A Woolly Tail introduces three new yarns from local yarn supplier Stylecraft: Astrakhan, Aviemore and TrendSetter.
We’re pleased to announce the arrival of 3 new yarns for Stylecraft, an independent yarn supplier based in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

A Woolly Tail is proud to have such a great relationship with all of its suppliers and believes strongly in supporting local business. Running a small family business myself, it’s important to me to solely deal with suppliers on our doorstep. This means we are able to offer a wide range of yarns at extremely competitive prices from some of the best suppliers in West Yorkshire. A Woolly Tail is a company that truly believes in its motto – yarns sourced from the Heart of Yorkshire!
Aviemore 4ply (pictured at the top of this post) is a new sock yarn from Stylecraft – an excellent quality sock yarn with 75% wool and 25% nylon which gives it a fantastic springy texture that ensures it bounces back into shape after numerous washes. The range comes in 6 vibrant shades (purple, pink, blue, green, brown and black) mixed with greys.
Harking back to vintage style yarns, Stylecraft's Astrakhan (pictured left) fills a gap in the market for a super chunky of this type.
Astrakhan is literally the tightly curled fleece of a newborn lamb and Stylecraft Astrakhan (a mix of 82% premium acrylic 15% Wool 3% Viscose) has a distinctive tight, whorled, loopy surface with a slight sheen and comes in a fantastic range of 8 shades.
Stylecraft TrendSetter is like no other chunky yarn that we know of on the market for its price. An acrylic yarn with 1% sparkle polyester, it is undoubtedly the softest sparkle yarn of its kind that we have stocked for some time. The range of shades is fantastic - from muted greys and greens through to more vibrant lilacs, teals and pinks.
