Get cabling this autumn

If you knit yourself one thing this winter, make it a cable jumper. To keep it on trend, knit it in a neutral shade of yarn, and make sure that it’s fitted but not too tight, has a round or high neck and ends just above your hips.

Pair it with trousers for the easiest of fashionable looks.

Draw inspiration from the jumpers stocked by high street stores such as Oasis and Hobbs, and then choose your pattern.

Sarah Hatton cable jumperWe love ‘Shannon’ from Rowan Magazine 52, and also have some desirable designs in Simply Knitting magazine – check out Debbie Bliss’ gorgeous ‘Taking A Break’ jumper (shown above) on page 12 of Simply Knitting 99 (on sale from 03 October) and Sarah Hatton’s funky ‘Folksy Weekend’ (shown left) on page 24 of the same issue.

The former is knitted in 100% British wool while the latter includes masses of alpaca for the ultimate in soft cosiness. When it comes to staying chic and snug this winter, content really is key!
