The Christmas holidays are finally over and we’re all back in the Simply Knitting office again. It feels strange to be here after more than a week away – everyone’s looking a bit dazed and confused! Hopefully after a large coffee we’ll be feeling ready to face getting stuck back into laying out pages, writing features and checking knitting patterns.
We’re excited about a new year of knitting adventures, from events such as the Stitch & Craft Show, which takes place in London from 15-18 March, to colourful new knitting patterns to tackle. The magazine will have plenty to keep you busy over the coming months!
2012 also brings lovely, luxurious new yarn releases from the likes of Sirdar, Rowan and Debbie Bliss, as well as knitting books such as Knitting With the Color Guys' by Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably, and 'The Aspley Collection – Book One' by Lorraine Hearn, which is being released both as an e-book and a print edition to raise money for her local school, Aspley Guise Lower.
And that’s not even considering all the trunk shows, knitting workshops, knitathons, knitalongs and other knitty delights just over the horizon! In each issue of Simply Knitting you’ll be able to find out what’s going on – we promise to keep you up to date with the knitting revelries that catch our eye.
It looks like 2012 is going to be a very fun, challenging and satisfying knitting year!
