Help needed with a charity crochet project

We've heard from a reader, Laura Moore in Bristol, about a new charity project in need of help from kind crocheters.

Reuben's Retreat (registered Charity Number 1150436) was set up in August 2012, after Reuben suddenly passed away aged 23 months. He suffered from a rare and aggressive cancerous tumour, and since his parents were unable to donate his organs due to the cancer, they have set up a charity in his name.

Kaffe Fassett - A Life in Colour

Starting in just over a week, the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey is hosting the first London exhibition of Kaffe Fassett's work since his record-breaking show at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1988. Kaffe Fassett – A Life in Colour showcases over five decades of his work, from designs for Bill Gibb, knitwear for Missoni, printed patchwork fabrics, quilts, and needlepoint.

Knitting cables - reading cable charts

Confident cabling – reading cable chartsGetting to grips with charts and learning how to fix mistakes can transform your cable knitting, as Belinda Boaden explains. This masterclass, from our sister title The Knitter, will help you understand the charts and knit with confidence.

Cable charts are a relatively new phenomenon in the UK, only becoming popular in the last 20 years or so. However, following a pictorial set of instructions for cables makes sense, in much the same way as charts for intarsia do. Rather than long, written instructions for each row, a good chart shows exactly how your cables should look.
